Go stuff the ballot boxes

My friend, Howard Tayler, is the creator of the webcomic Schlock Mercenary.  He’s one of the finalists for webcomic of the decade from the Washington Post.

Right now he’s in the lead because he’s alerted his fans.  Shortly the Penny-Arcade machine will awake, and then proceed to grind him into paste, as is fitting for the webcomic that gets over a bazillion hits a day and raises millions of dollars a year for charity, but let’s give Howard a good run!

And if you don’t read Schlock Mercenary anyway, you’re missing out. John Ringo’s latest book, Live Free Or Die, is based on the Schlockverse.  It is an epic space opera with mercs, guns, and blobs.

Commentary from our friends in Europe:
Holy crap, Vendetta is on Amazon!

  1. Uh, you might want to check the latest Schlock Merc blogpost. I think you may have created some sort of Slashdot effect on the webpoll. Or at least really helped it along.

    1. …or not. The timestamps here are about six hours fast and it looks like this was posted about the same time Howard Taylor blogged about the spoofing. I’ll just go shut up now.

  2. Actually there are no mercs in Live Free or Die. Free traders, ships, guns, big space fortresses, and battle fleets it does have. So its not like your getting short changed.

  3. There’s a BOOK?!?! Why wasn’t I informed of this?

As of my vote (for Schlock of course) it’s a very strong second place, but I can’t see it taking the lead from Penny Arcade.

  4. Well I might consider voting for him if I could actually find a web comic anywhere on the page you linked to.All I see is a blog

  5. Well finally found the comic he needs to put an obvious link to it from his blog.Although I am willing to admit stupidity and blindness on my part.
