Order signed copies of Monster Hunter Vendetta now!

http://www.unclehugo.com/prod/ah-correia-larry.php

Okay, I can go ahead and make it official. As I talked about last week, I’m selling autographed copies of MHV through an indy bookstore that reports to the bestseller lists. The store in question is Uncle Hugo’s of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Who, some of you may remember, is also the guyย who read my self published MHI and introduced me to Baen. Now Uncle Hugo’s is helping me out with this, too.

So if you responded in that last thread, I listened, and counted. Baen is going to ship several hundred copies to me to be signed, and then I’m sending them to Uncle Hugo’s.

In answer to the questions posed in the last thread, the price is just the normal cover price.ย  They do ship internationally and to APOs.

Thanks everyone. Let’s kick some butt and get onto some bestseller lists. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Has Amazon Prime spoiled me or $6.00 to ship a paperback just a bit steep?

Regardless, my order has been placed!

    1. The link is for signed copies. That was why I did the head count preorder. His whole shipment of MHV will be signed copies.

  2. Preorder placed…hopefully it fits in my university mailbox…I’m probably going to buy a second copy to actually read, I can be rough on my paperbacks.

  3. Order for TWO placed.

A bit pricey, but the word of The Correa is iron and wise, and we will heed these words of iron and wisdom. (paraphrased from “The Outlaw Josie Wales”)

Besides, community is all about supporting your friends, and especially small businesses.

    1. Price is the same. Shipping is a little more than what I charge when I do it myself, but as you guys know, I suck at timely delivery. I make it to the post office about once every 3 weeks if ya’ll are lucky. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Question! When do you think these will ship approximately? I know sometimes when you pre-order books they come out before the scheduled release date. Just wondering because I’d like to maneuver my schedule around reading it in one sitting and I have classes on weekdays now.

    1. We’re going to try and get them out early, but can’t officially promise anything. Basically they’ll be coming to me a little early, but then I’ve got to sign like ten cases, then ship them to Hugo’s.

  5. Hey there! I helped too Larry. ๐Ÿ™‚ Don is tickled to do this and I’m sure he’ll ask for more to keep in stock. BTW when are you going to come to M/StP? I’d love to show you around, take care ans enjoy the new house.

    1. Oh, no doubt about that. If you hadn’t forced Don to read it, I’d still be a nobody. ๐Ÿ™‚

Don and I talked about it. I’m going to fly out when Grimnoir comes out. For some reason, Spring sounds like a nicer time to come visit.

      1. Wimp! -20ยบ ain’t bad but add in ice and it gets a mite uncomfy I’ll grant. I love our autumns most, crisp, clear & bracing. Kinda funny that me a south Louisiana boy found a home up in the Great White North.

  6. Ordered. Thanks Larry. I read MHI in two days….well nights as I did it after work. Looking forward to MHV.

So..when’s the third part going to be ready?

  7. Ordered two MHVs and one MHI, the MHI is for the friend that’s getting the other MHV. She read my copy of MHI and loved it. Figured getting her a signed copy would be better if she had both of the books. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Ordered!!!

Nice. Only $13 for a shipped autographed copy. I paid $13 for my regular version of MHI last year off Amazon ๐Ÿ˜€

  9. Figures. Right after I say “I’ll take one,” money gets real tight all of the sudden. Stupid college textbooks. Hopefully there will still be signed copies available this weekend, when I’ll FINALLY be getting paid for a bunch of odd jobs that I did over the summer.

  10. Thanks Larry! I preordered 2 signed copies along with a new copy of MHI, seeings as mine has been borrowed and is a little worse for wear. Looking forward to MHV!

  11. Called(never order anything from a place on the web that doesn’t have a phone nember, heh) and ordered two. Seem like okay people to me. Said they wouldn’t charge the card until books were ready to be shipped.

  12. Just put in my pre-order for 5 copies. Figured the cost of a buck and change to ship a book is reasonable. Besides I love the idea of getting the signed copies from a small business. While Amazon is cool, I like to support the Mom and Pop stores, especially when they do something cool like this.

This option beats having to track you down at SHOT Show, or in the hills of UT for the awesome squiggly line. These tend to make great gifts, and everyone I have loaned my copies to tends to buy another one for themselves.

Thanks again for the excellent books! Keep ’em coming.

  13. Got my order in for 3x and I’d like to point out to everyone that not only are you helping Larry AND the guys that helped get him discovered, but the higher he is on the bestseller lists the more likely we are to see MHI: the Movie…. (hmmm… come to think of it, I’d better go make my order 5x) ๐Ÿ˜€

  14. Order placed for two.

I don’t know if the headcount is being x-ref’d with the comments in the “ordered” post but just in case…

My unqualified but cheerful prediction is that the signed copies will enjoy more orders than actually shown in the “headcount” thread. (in stark contrast with group purchases at THR and the like which tend to garner more promises than money).

Not sure why, but that’s the prediction…

  15. Maybe I’m missing it, but is this USPS or one of the other shippers? I ask because we don’t get USPS delivery except to our PO Box. Just need to know so I can put down the right address.

    1. He’s one of the biggest independant bookstores in the country and has been around for a really long time. He’s cool. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. His store is only about a half hour away from me. But the $6 is definitely worth not having to go through minneapolis ๐Ÿ˜‰
