The MHI challenge coin Kickstarter has entered the final 24 hours

We have entered the last 24 hours of the MHI Challenge Coin Kickstarter.

This has been an unbelievable ride. As of right now we are 3098% funded, with $92,929 and 1001 backers. That’s way bigger than I expected.

So if you want to change your pledge or add anything else this is pretty much it. 🙂

Once Kickstarter charges everyone they will send us a final tally. We will be sending out backer surveys immediately after that. I’d like to ask a favor. Please get us back those surveys as quickly as you can so we can have accurate counts. We are going to be pushing as hard as we can to try and get everything produced and shipped before Christmas.

Thanks. The Monster Hunter Nation rocks.

  1. Thanks for the notice Larry. I went in at the 30 dollar level hoping my second coin can be another official MHI coin. I want to give it to my daughter as a gift.

  2. I’ll be happy to send a Priority Mail SASE, and save you a few bucks shipping.

as a statistical sample of one:

    2 MHI coins
    2 Puff exemptions,

Yeah, half of it is a Christmas present.

I’ll still fill out the survey ASAP, of course.

Presumably, you’ll stuff the prepaid envelopes first with lowered numbered coins as thanks and to get them out of your hair. Then, when Murphy’s Law rears it’s head, My envelope will already be on the way. Just give me an address to send it to.

During the Christmas season, USPS parcel and first class mail and FedEx, UPS ground parcels are severely delayed.

For APO/FPO/DPO standard post recommended (not guaranteed) shipping is by NOVEMBER 12 to get it there by Christmas.

Post Office recommends 20 Dec for domestic first class, 14 Dec for Standard Post.

FedEx recommends Dec 17th for ground.

    UPS?
They add 90 minutes to the air and int’l shipment deadlines and:

“The guarantee is suspended for UPS Ground and UPS Standard packages picked up or scheduled for delivery between Dec. 11 and Dec. 24.”

  3. Hey Larry, I’m a huge fan of your work, and a avid MHI reader, I’m currently going threw a time where money is very tight and I really can not back your kick starter, I do apologize about that because I would in a heart beat, what I want to know is, will the coins be purchasable latter, once I can get on my feet agin I’d love to buy a set of them at least the MHI logo and the Sam have one for sure maybe some others.
    Thanks

    1. Ah, so it’s not me, my earlier post with links went to moderation limbo, but the parent went through.

We now return you to your regular programming…

    Electronic Shipping Info Received

I ordered a very small package from a huge electronics supply house. I know Mouser Electronics knows what they’re doing.

Notice how it departed the facility on November 2, and again on November 5?

Again, this is 2-day guaranteed priority mail. And it’s 10 tiny switch bezels.

Keep this in mind when you ship planning to beat a Christmas deadline. This was Halloween. Candy is generally picked up in person, so it’s not a busy day for shipping.

    1. I checked the mail personally today, November 8. Bills & letters, yes, no package, and it’s late afternoon here.

      1. Whenever i see a double “depart USPS sort facility,” I picture the package being stuck to the back of Mr. Bean’s jacket, and when he finally discovers it two days later he takes it back to the Post Office so they can sort it again.

      2. @Dave H,

Thank you. That image is sticking with me and making me smile through the frustration. I paid for 2 day delivery because I needed it in 2 days.

Now, I’m feeling better, because who can stay angry at Mr. Bean? At least he brought it back!

      3. Meanwhile, a priority mail 3-day envelope, left in my mailbox on Tuesday 5 nov, was delivered this morning 7 nov, 48 hours and 23 minutes later,

        Go figure.

  5. Larry —

Finally made a pledge (at the last minute, natch). You’ve got a lot of cool rewards, but I was a little disappointed not to see anything commemorating the Ladies of MHI, considering what ass-kickers they are (which kind’a fits this theme).

    Other than that…coolness.

  6. Aww Crap!!! Missed the kickstarter.

Take my money anyway, how can I buy into the coins of thunderous 10mm death?
