From experienced Hunters on their toughest cases, to total newbies’ initial encounters with the supernatural, The Monster Hunter Files reveals the secret history of the world’s most elite monster fighting force. Find out what happened when Agent Franks took on the Nazis in World War Two, or how the Vatican’s Combat Exorcists deal with Old Ones in Mexico. 1. The short story has long been my favorite form of fantastic storytelling. Huzzah! Seeing all these marvelous yarn-spinners collaborating in your universe is cause for joyful anticipation.

  2. *insert manly fanboi squee here* Do let us know when the EARC is available. I feel the desire to give you more money.

    1. I’d rather keep talking, and you can give your money to the retailer of your choice when the product is available for sale.

  3. For a moment, I read one title as The Case of The Ghastly Sphincter and thought it was Harry Reid coming out openly as a ghoul.

As always Larry: Shut up and take my money!

  4. I eagerly await the opportunity to deliver unto you more representations of goods and services in exchange for entertainment.

  5. I cannot wait, I only wish I was a decent writer. I love this series so much i would love to contribute to an anthology like this.

  6. Dammit, I’m throwing money at the screen and it’s not doing anything! 😛

(And logins are still screwed up for FB, which barfs with a “bad credentials” error.)

    1. Bryan took a shot at it, then I spent a few hours grumbling about, and then David from Baen provided some helpful edits… So yeah, basically everybody hates writing back cover blurbs. 🙂

    1. Aside from the anticipation and the gratitude with which I acknowledge your dedication to getting the product out the door, I have to say that I would have also enjoyed another of your SHOT show reviews. Think you can pencil it in again for next year? 😉

  7. No chance we could talk you into doing your own, much earlier, EArc release, is there.

Notice that’s not a question, just a recognition of reality from a very frustrated fan that wants. it. now!

I mean, this is the 21st Century already! Why do we have to wait for a publisher to have a slot open!

Digitarians unite! Break the delays! Gimmedats what we can pay for soonest!

  8. “Small Problems” by Jim Butcher. Opening line “The floor needed mopping, and it wasn’t my fault.”

  9. The Mantichore Sanction by John C Wright has the following opening line:

” When Her Majesty’s government decreed that he must murder his fiancée before New Years, Madhouse Harry thought it only reasonable. “

      1. Which story is great? Mine? Set in your background?
Dude. I’m touched. I am very flattered.
So now you have to write me a Night Lands story or something.

    1. Looking forward to that one – my first thought was “a companion piece to Tim Power’s ‘Declare'” – I mean that as high praise.

  10. This book is certain to end with a heck of a bang!

    Spoiler!

But… didn’t Franks just hate everyone anyway? I mean I know he got better. Just saying

  11. Oooh….this sounds like fun! After you recommended Jonathon Maberry’s Joe Ledger series I picked up the first book. I’m about halfway through it, and I can see why you like his work. It dawned on me that you had mentioned working with him on an “Urban Allies” anthology story. The book was sitting around on my iPad waiting to be read, so I dug it out, skipped to your story, and greatly enjoyed reading about Agent Franks and Joe Ledger working together to exterminate demon-possessed ISIS terrorists!

It’s nice to see your MHI universe expanding, and getting to read some new authors’ take on it. Happy writing!

  12. Currently reading through the Jane Yellowrock books, so curious to see how the crossover will work! All the other stories sound awesome too.
