I had a lot of fun with this. John and I talk about the book, how it came about (which is actually a pretty cool story), and our collaborative process. The book came out really good too and I’m excited for you guys to read it.

LTUE is coming up

  1. Love this interview. It was a lot of fun to listen to. People who haven’t pre-ordered Gun Runner will want to do that ASAP !

  2. Great interview. Sometimes I feels like these interviews with Baen are either to much spoilers to listen too before reading the book. Or not enough detail as to add a lot after you have read the book. I know its a hard line to balance as someone that has done reviews and interviews with authors in the past. Be interesting to know what data if any Baen has on who is listening to this podcast and when. Are people listening to hear about new releases or are they listening after finishing the books for more details. If its largely the latter I think a more open spoiler filled discussion would make for a deeper more engaging product. If its the former then the podcast is fine, but not great where it is.

This however was a great interview as you guys got to talk about the process of writing which I personally always enjoy hearing about. With enough plot info to make me the listener interested in the book, but not so much that it spoiled everything.

John seems like a cool dude I look forward to checking out more of his work. I also thought your comment about having missed a deadline for the first time in 12 years was cute considering how many other authors struggle to hit deadlines.

Thanks to both John and you, Larry for all your hard work

  3. I relly loved your books in the Iron Kingdoms world so were wondering about if you have plans for a third?

    Best regards!

  4. Hubs and I just finished listening to Destroyer of Worlds in front of a nice fire in the fireplace. It’s become the best entertainment for us. We’re looking forward to being able to start this book next week. Got the firewood all stacked and everything!

  5. In a strange twist, the local B&N had “Gun Runner” on the shelf last Friday, Jan 29th. I’m not sure how that happened, but I was able to purchase it.
I’m mostly through the book now, and it’s been pretty good. Thanks!
