  1. I sure hope you get a chance to tour on the Left Coast. The Pacific Northwest would love to see you!

  2. The saddest part about them burning down Uncle Hugo’s is all the books signed by authors no longer with us. Irreplaceable treasures, reduced to a pile of soggy ashes.

    Damn book-burning savages!

    1. “Goose stepping Morons should try reading books instead of burning them!”
Dr. Henry Jones Sr. (Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade)

  3. Just got back from the MN book signing, it was great! And a bit hazy from Canada leaking its forests into the air, but that’s beside the point. Larry and Mike Kupari entertained us for a little over a hour before the book signing started in earnest, lots of questions answered, well worth the wait.

P.S. Totally going to buy an art print of the cover, would gladly buy poster merch.

  4. Ok, have read what’s available of Bloodlines to those who’ve preordered the digital, and just waiting for Tuesday while rereading Guardian. But one scene raised a question, which sparked another question or six (I’ll limit it to the original and one other though)

    1) What blades did Milo make for Forged in Fire?
    2) How many of the judges are in on the secret about monsters?

    1. “Only” 336 pages?
      About 117,693 words of awesomeness.
About the same as most of the MHI books.
Also, exactly as long as it needs to be….

      1. The other books were way more pages. Anyways I see it’s over 700. Which is sweet. Any idea when the Audible edition releases?

    2. I was wondering if I had a defective copy myself; I had that happened with a few years ago with a hardback Tom Clancy novel—the last chapter or three was missing. The last word in my copy is ‘quest?’ So do I have a clean copy?

  5. Arg! I just realized the Dallas event is on a Wednesday night and I run our sound booth at my church on Wednesdays. I just requested a refund and released my ticket. I don’t really care about the refund. I’m the one that made the mistake. But I see the event is sold out. Hopefully it’s not too late and someone else can snag my ticket.

  6. Amazon.ca says I should have my copy of Bloodlines tomorrow. Being that I live in the Demented Dominion with the closed border, that will have to do. Otherwise I’d have been tempted to drive down to one of these signings.

Imagine the US/Canadian border being closed. Makes you shake your head.

  7. I missed the fact that there was limited seating for the Dallas stop. I was going to go to that rather than order from Uncle Hugo’s, but I also put it off because I didn’t know what was going to happen with my second child’s birth. (Everything’s fine, he came early.) Sadly, it’s sold out, so we won’t be able to attend anyway.

    Next time, I guess . . .

  8. Hey Larry, looking forward to seeing you again , feel free to reach out to me if you need dinner suggestions for the New Orleans stop, was sad to hear about your dismal results last time.

  9. Never mind. I’m a scrub and my Google is broke.

Just saw the post where it was announced it will be out a month later. But damn. Thank god they kept the same narrator.

  10. Got my copy on Tuesday, read it from 3PM Wednesday to 1AM Thursday. Some quick takeaways:

    Boo: too short
    Boo: Cliffhanger ending
    Yay: Love the twist ending
Yay: excellent and non stop action

    1. Yeah, if it had kept going, it would rival “Steam, Its Generation and Use” by Babcock and Wilcox before it would have found another good stopping place.

      1. Maybe, but as it is, it’s like if Monster Hunter International had ended when they got out of Natchy Bottom. We wants the rest of the story, we WANTS it!

I found Steam: very interesting, by the way. Got it from Project Gutenberg.

        1. That’s neat book. I ran across an epub version in last year or three. It’s crammed with history and up to date technology.

    2. Jesse Barrett summed it up perfectly- “he wanted to keep going, but there wasn’t enough room in the 120k word novel for another 120k word novel.”

  11. Wait a cottonpicking minute here…

The head of MCB is a GS-15, and not on the Exec Schedule, or at least an SES.

Totally blowing the realism here. Mind blow.

    1. Not to mention “6.5 creedmoor, trajectory like a laser”

      AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
      it burns
      IT BURNS!!!!!!!

  12. Since people are starting to comment on the book in this thread, I’ll throw in my two cents.

Larry wins again. He wrote another story that left me excited for the next story. This book is awesome and you should read it if you haven’t already.

Finally, Larry, your fans on the sane-ish side of Washinton State miss you and hope you can work a stop somewhere close into one of your future book tours.

  13. just wanted to stop by and say thanks again for keeping up the pace, was just wondering what to read while breaking my 17-hour daily fast (going on three years now) and of course here’s Larry with another sure-to-be-awesome novel even though he’s under absolutely no obligation to keep churning these out and at this point could probably just slack off for a decade and take zero lifestyle hit

somehow I missed the pre-order but great timing as I just wrapped up Zelazny’s Dilvish books (finally on Kindle!) from way back when Hugos actually meant something

hope you’re loving the new house! thanks for the opportunity to throw my money at you again

  14. If touring the country by vehicle it would be badass if you made a political banner of “You shoulda voted for Harbinger” with harbinger standing over a P.U.F.F. applicable politician.

  15. Oh man. I thought when the latest schedule was posted it was just a clip/paste error that Rolla MO wasn’t listed, and showed up today.

  16. Just finished it, in three nights, and DAAAYYYYUMM.

    It’s good.

    Too short, too darned short.

And too long till the next.

But some of the things intertwined, let’s say it’s got me more interested in characters I previously detested.

    Well done Larry, well done.

  17. Bravo Zulu on your writing. I have listened to most of your books over & over. Chad’s story ended appropriately, but if you’re ever casting about for more offshoots, I became attached to Remy’s character. There may be not just meat on the bone, but a whole banquet in that story. Thanks for the decades of entertainment.
